The 2023 International Motorcycle, Bicycle and Accessories Fair, supported by the Motorcycle Industry Association “MOTED”, which represents 44 brands engaged in import, distribution, sales or production activities in the motorcycle industry in Turkey, will take place at the Istanbul Expo Center between 27 – 30 April 2023. Basari Erbaş, Chairman of the Motorcycle Industry Association (Moted), said that they think there will be a greater interest in the fair, which was visited by 92 thousand people in 2022 and organized by Messe Frankfurt this year.

Erbaş said: “Compared to fairs in other sectors, the motorcycle fair has such a feature that its product display and visual appeal can be directly reflected in sales performance. The consumer can examine the products during the fair and make a purchase decision. For this reason, companies pay great attention to this fair, which can be reflected in the sales of the whole year. Today, developments in all sectors and new formations in the market have created an environment where competition is intense. Today, just producing quality goods and putting them on the market is not enough to be successful and sell. Consumers may encounter different prices, quality and forms of the same product and have the opportunity to choose the goods or services they need from among different alternatives. MOTED continues its efforts to take the necessary actions for the development of the motorcycle industry in Turkey, in coordination with the legal authorities, and to raise the awareness of the society about motorcycle use. In addition, MOTED has undertaken the task of consulting source in domestic and foreign information requests about the motorcycle sector and all related issues in Turkey.”

According to research, it is predicted that global annual two-wheeled vehicle production will increase by 1/3 of its current level and will reach 160 million vehicles in 2025. Erbaş said, “This points to the potential of motorcycle technology to be an important driver of the business world. It is possible to see the proofs of this in the importance of the motorcycle industry in the world and in the phases it has gone through until today. The total turnover of the motorcycle industry in Turkey in 2022 was around 20,606,173,000 TL. In 2022, a total of 415,000 motorcycles were registered. The increase in the number of motorcycle registrations by 222% compared to January-February last year is a great indicator that the year will end with a good result. While 77,301 registrations were made in January-February 2023, 24,004 registrations were made in the same period of 2022. In 2023, we estimate that the market will be around 450 thousand units.”
