Statement about Berlusconi’s health status – Last Minute World News
Italian former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s health has been of concern after being diagnosed with chronic leukemia and suffering a lung infection. However, his doctors, Prof. Alberto Zangrillo and Prof. Fabio Ciceri, have recently released a statement indicating that they have observed continuous improvement in the organ functions of the 86-year-old over the last 48 hours. The cytoreductive, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory treatments that he has been receiving are producing the expected results, and there is cautious optimism. Berlusconi remains in the intensive care unit at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, where he has been since April 5.
Prof. Zangrillo has also stated that Berlusconi is responding positively to the treatments. This is good news for the former prime minister, who was taken to the hospital on March 27 for control purposes, and this was his second hospital visit after recovering from Covid-19 in September 2020.
Berlusconi was the longest-serving prime minister in Italy’s 1994-2011 period. Even after facing numerous controversies throughout his political career, Berlusconi is retaining influence in Italy’s politics. As he exited the hospital, he expressed his gratitude, “I managed to get over it this time, too.” However, his health condition will continue to be monitored closely.
